Dongnae seafood soups and set meals
A nakgopsae house in the Jobang octopus lineage, at 37 Myeongnyun-ro 94beon-gil in Myeongnyun-dong, Dongnae. It became widely known through a Korean TV food show hosted by Baek Jong-won, one of the judges on Netflix Culinary Class Wars, and the name comes up whenever nakgopsae is discussed in Busan.
The menu is naksae, nakgop, and nakgopsae, with udon, glass noodle, ramyeon or potato add-ins. Rice is included and orders start at two portions. Octopus, shrimp, intestines and extra rice can be added, and the side dishes and clear soup that come with it are well made. Naksae, octopus with intestines, and nakgopsae are each KRW 12,000.
Nakgopsae is simmered at the table with octopus, intestines, shrimp, glass noodles and scallion. Keep the lid on, turn it once midway to loosen the sauce, and it is ready when the liquid reduces to a deep colour. The mild sweetness and heat sit well against the soft octopus, shrimp and intestines, and it is at its best mixed into rice.
Takeaway starts at two portions and delivery reaches Seoul and Gyeonggi. The room is wide with varied seating so waits are usually short, though weekend evenings fill up and an early dinner keeps it relaxed. There is a large car park across the street with staff directing cars.
