원조석대추어탕
Haeundae seafood
A loach soup house on the Hundred-Year Shops list at 5 Bansong-ro 571beon-gil in Seokdae, Haeundae. It is a converted old family house, and everything from the kettles to the cutlery holders keeps the classic feel of a neighbourhood institution. Weekend lunches get busy.
Long simmering in a cauldron gives a deep broth with soft solids. The loach is ground very fine, so nothing is recognisable and no bones catch, which makes it easy to eat. Each bowl comes generously filled.
Loach soup is KRW 10,000, which is kind for the portion, and the side dishes are laid out generously. Garlic or cheongyang chili can be added to taste. Takeaway is KRW 14,000 and a litre of dongdongju KRW 10,000, and the shop accepts the fuel-cost support voucher.
There is a dedicated car park near the door at 494 Seokdae-dong, so arriving by car is not a problem.
