A webfoot octopus griddle house that has held its place on the Pusan National University strip while the shops around it changed hands. Seating runs deep inside and out front, which suits a group, and a wait can form late in the evening.
Webfoot octopus is KRW 12,900, with pork belly KRW 13,900, with bulgogi KRW 13,900, with beef brisket KRW 14,900, and the flame-grilled version KRW 14,900. Cheese, steamed egg and mala sauce ring the edge of the griddle at no extra charge, which is how the house builds the dish, and pasta noodles can be added for KRW 1,000. There is a closing fried rice and a flying-fish-roe version.
Heat comes at level one or two. Level two is moderately spicy, though anyone weak with heat should stay at one. Perilla leaf, garlic, pickled radish, bean sprouts, angel-hair salad and a bowl of acorn jelly come as standard, and the jelly cools the mouth between bites. Refills come from the self-serve bar. Wrapping in perilla or dipping into the cheese are both worth trying.
In the evening staff cook the griddle for you, but with the lunch special you cook it yourself; instructions are printed at each seat, so it is not difficult. The lunch special attaches fried rice to a main, which prices well for students and office workers. Groups, Naver reservations, delivery and takeaway are all handled. Hours are 11:00 to 23:00 daily, with a break from 15:00 to 16:30 and last order at 22:30. The lunch special is only ordered between 11:00 and 15:00. There is parking space but no parking subsidy.
